Das Fest ist die größte kostenlose Open-Air-Veranstaltung in Deutschland und findet seit 1985 jährlich am letzten Wochenende vor den baden-württembergischen Sommerferien, also Ende Juli in der Günther-Klotz-Anlage (unmittelbar neben der Europahalle) in Karlsruhe statt.
Bekannte Künstler wie Seeed, Juli, Silbermond, Faithless, PUR, Fury in the Slaughterhouse, Apocalyptica, Guano Apes, New Model Army, Tito & Tarantula, Bananafishbones, BAP, Such A Surge, Gentleman, Chumbawamba, H-Blockx, Ska-P, Fünf Sterne deluxe, Simple Minds, Beatsteaks, Sunrise Avenue, Die Fantastischen Vier,Itchy Poopzkid und Denyo waren im Laufe der Zeit schon zu Gast
